In 1992, aspiring guitar players were banned from playing the opening riff of "Stairway to heaven" in guitar stores. What do you think the long term effects of this have been and should it be lifted?
We feel the "Denied!" rule was a good move at the time in light of the possible over exposure of a song like Stairway. However, things have changed since then and now there simply are too many guitarists who lack in the finesse and emotionality that a piece like Stairway demands. It might very well be time to allow the shredders of the world to try their hand at something without distortion. Of course, the results could be devestating...
I love you gals at the STATE!! I know this may be a silly question but why do you stay away from doing "Stairway to Heaven"? Your set list is complete without it (of course).
